Nearly 100 Years of Automotive History Crosses the Block at the 2024 Lakeland Fall Collector Car Auction

2023 has been a successful year in so many ways for Carlisle Auctions and its parent company, Carlisle Events.  Auction events spanning two cities and as many states hosted well over 1,000 consignments, and nearly $20 million in total sales.  Best of all, 2023 also saw a Carlisle Auctions’ first; a $300,000+ sale by way of a 1953 Corvette at the Spring Carlisle Collector Car Auction.  All that success laid the perfect foundation for the final event of the year, November 10-11 at the Lakeland Fall Collector Car Auction.

For two days in the days leading up to Thanksgiving, Carlisle Auctions rolled into the SUN ‘n FUN Expo Campus with a few thousand guests and 300+ consignments spanning all eras of production.  Available vehicles spanned nearly 100 years; from a 1930 Model A Ford to a 2017 VW.  In between bidders and spectators alike were able to enjoy the likes of ‘60s era Corvettes, an ‘80s era Ferrari, ‘70s Muscle Cars, trucks, Jeeps, vans, SUVs, and more.

Speaking of trucks, the popular All-Truck Hour returned on Friday, November 10 and for one hour (12:30 PM to 1:30 PM) some of the finest trucks of all types were available to prospective buyers.  There were farm trucks, vintage 1-ton flat beads, modern daily drivers, and some high-end restorations too.  The top-selling All-Truck Hour truck was a 1953 Chevrolet 3100 Custom, selling for $32,000.

As overall auction top-sales go, Friday’s top seller was a 1960 Chevy Chevelle, moving for $75,000, with Saturday’s top lot (also the top seller of the auction) being a 1959 Pontiac Bonneville, selling for $77,000.  In addition to these top-sellers, Carlisle Auctions is proud to share the sale of two amazing kit cars; a 2015 ASPT Superlite SLC ($56,000) and a 2010 ASPT Ultima GTR ($32,000).

“This concludes Carlisle Auctions’ 2023 year,” noted Tony Cline, Director of Auction Operations.  “Thank you to everyone who participated.  This includes our dedicated group of buyers, sellers, and spectators” continued Cline.  “Also, I want to take the time to recognize and thank our hard-working Carlisle Auctions team members for all their hard work, not only here in Lakeland, but at our two Pennsylvania-based auctions as well.”

While this auction signifies the end of the year for Carlisle Auctions, the 2024 auction season will be here soon enough.  In fact, the next auction is once again in Lakeland, this time March 1-2 at the SUN ‘n FUN Expo Campus and the Lakeland Winter Collector Car Auction.  The winter offering is bigger and bolder, as it hosts 400+ consignments, the All-Truck Hour returns on March 1, plus offers a great platform for possible charity consignments too.  Learn more about how to get involved with Carlisle Auctions in Lakeland or in Carlisle by visiting CarlisleAuctions.com or calling 717-960-6400 today!
